Nissans big luxury people carrier  .This is the premium " Highway Star " model, powered by a 3.3 V6 petrol engine delivering silent effortless performance ( MPG see below for consumption figures )driving a smooth 4 speed automatic transmission, selctable 4 wheeldrive makes this a fantastic allrounder well capable of towing big caravans, boats , horse boxes  , privacy glass,  wind deflectors 8 luxury half leather seats will fold down into beds, 2nd row seats swivel to face rearwards ,digital air conditioning / climate control,  soft shut side & rear door, the rear seats fold away to give huge load area, 2 x SRS airbags, A.B.S brakes. to me this is what an mpv should be , loads of space , proper seats, a big unstressed engine rather than a little screaming 1.8 , heavy duty construction , very refined and all with legendary Nissan build Quality!!!

The official consumption for this model is 19.4 MPG but this is over the 10-15 mode test sequence ( if your intrested i`ve added the graph to the pics for this car ), this is a series of accelerations and stops typical of Japanese road conditions and similar to what we would call "around town / city ". But theres no figures for constant speed , my experience tells me that approximately  25-26 mpg on a run is not an unreasonable figure, 

Two other factors also come into the equation firstly , petrol is slightly cheaper than diesel  ,second and more importantly a petrol Elgrand is £1,500.00 cheaper than an equivalent  diesel model !!!!,  get your calculator out and work out how far you would have to travel before you had spent £1500 getting 5 mpg less.
